Activities & Events

We offer a range of social activities and programmes for residents.

Our residents' health and wellbeing is of paramount importance to us and everyone is encouraged to participate in our social and activities programme.

Daily activities are very important to everyone who lives in a care home. Enjoying varied meaningful activities on a day-to-day basis helps us retain a sense-of-self and independence. A mix of focused and relaxed activity can provide us with stimulation and distraction, helping to improve and maintain mental agility and physical mobility.

Depending on a person’s needs and wishes, daily life can be as diverse as they like at St Luke’s Care Home. We provide a regular menu of activities for residents, giving plenty of opportunities to socialise. These include sing-alongs, board games, dominos, bingo sessions, reminiscence sessions, arts and crafts, cookery, cake decorating and games with our dedicated activities co-ordinator.

If you prefer your own company, then why not enjoy a bit of one-to-one time with a member of the care team for a chat, some reading or a gentle hand massage? We encourage residents to remain as independent as possible, while ensuring their safety comes first. Retaining a sense of self is imperative for good mental health, as is trying new activities and taking on new challenges within a safe and supportive environment.

Residents are encouraged to follow their own interests and hobbies and our trained staff are always on hand to assist. Televisions in our lounges offer residents the opportunity to relax and keep abreast of current affairs and enjoy their favourite programmes.

Visitors may visit at any time. However, we request you consider mealtimes when planning a visit.
